SUMMARY

Average Pace for the Conditions and a tight group of 5 after 2f furlongs. Slow Time and only the first two home seeing the race out.

With Lomu (pictured above) coming from last to win it could be read as a Closer coming late to beat tiring horses. That did not seem to be the case and Lomu in a strong travelling 2R after 2f and slightly held. Lomu switching out wides by 2f out and making real progress in the 4th 1f to engage Tallinski and the pair duelling clear. Lomu a soilidly built medium sprinter and probably the biggest in the field. Looked ok for 75-79.

Tallinski looking a usable ready sprinter in the Brocklesby where he paid for attending a too stiff pace for average or lesser quality. Niggle there that although being neatly made he was perhaps a bit size limited. Ran well here back from a break and trainer Ellison is slowly improving his handling of early season 2yos over the years. But, Tallinski a size smaller than Lomu and although trying hard effectively overpowered by the line. May be a 'Northern 75' but view still he is a size limited to some extent although seems a reliable character.

Tallinski in the front rank 1 off the rail and attending The Nazca Lines' lead on the rail. TNL looking a size, or notch, down compared to Tallinski and a similar ready type. TNL trying hard but seemed to be left behind by stronger horses. Sub-75 and a Nursery type unless he finds a winnable earlyish race.

Kahrab cut off on the rail by the XFs and looking a bit green and never fully travelling in the conditions. But, another sub-medium size?

Trainer Barron seems to have made an effort to get his 2yos going and competitive early. A trainer to take very seriously when he has the 2yos 'in form'. Scuzeme his 5th debut of the year and 1 x FTO win and 2 x 2nds before this. The 10/11fav presumably was 'real' info in the Market and Scuzme presumed to be 75+. Scuzme doing a number of minor things wrong, raced wide pulling a bit, a bit green overall and so on. Completely gone inside the last 1f and wobbling home in the last 0.5f. Probably the 2nd biggest but not as strong as Lomu. Work on basis he is a 75 when he has more nous and probably faster going.
