Bahamadam review A pretty dreadful race made particularly difficult by the constant drizzle and rugs preventing a good view of the contenders. Bahamadam – Tallish and looked too weak and unready to seriously compete despite my pre-race rating. Given a straightforward and sensible ride right down the rail by R Winston not getting involved in the pace battle. 70 Bee Case – Even less to her than Bahamadam, perhaps compromised by the draw. 67 Miss Anticipation – Somewhere between Bahamadam and Bee Case in size, bit more strength but looks not to be too willing. 66 Hathfa – A nonsensical plunge on this one before the off. Ok shape but little size to her maybe top end of small at best. Fraction fitter than many of Hughes have been, not convincing as anything better than she showed here. Debut run so with benefit of doubt 67 Moonstone Rock – One of the better shapes in the pre-parade, medium and well proportioned, green and a bit daft. Ok run for a Boyle debut. 70 Mezyan – Chunky lower medium sized filly with enough substance to think she will pick up a small race. Just trundled through though 65 Ginger Truffle – Given to Hannon or Johnston it is hard to believe this one would not have won a maiden and be rated above 75. Strongly made, bit awkward through the couplings but some definite potential if they can control his waywardness. 73 if he learns to settle., otherwise mid 60s. Cuban Isabela – Small lightly made. 63 Queensbrydge – Small, good girth depth and a racy look to her but very green in prelims, draw did not help as she had to do too much early. 65 Highland Dream – Described as chestnut but looks like a roan to me. Still carrying a lot of condition and looks as though off to the nurseries may have always been the plan. Enough size and substance to believe she is a bit better than this. 67 Fair Selene – No better than thought on debut but looked as she should, fitter. 63 Venetian Proposal – Small and fat. 58 Harlequin rose – Small and fat, 3 runs and nurseries. Proportions not too bad. 60 Gaia Princess – Tiny fat grey. 54 Melo Magic – Big plain type. 55 |
