SUMMARY
In an extra change which was not noted when the 'Novice Experiment' was announced by the BHA is that a number of the few maidens left have become 'Newcomers' Maidens. No horses with previous runs, even maidens, allowed to take part.

Stalls Centre. Inner HS.

=== Post Race ===

Prince Of Cool bouncing out and leading centre track. Set a usable pace and controlled the race well and responding when Pretty Vacant came forward to challenge in the last 1f+. How much will the Given FTO winner progress & will he be tried too high too early? Trainer won the same (or very similar) race in 2015 with a breeze buy (Jazz Legend) for the same owners. That one got a lot of 'Breeze Timers' extremely jiggy but well beaten in the Coventry and then descending the OR and well beaten in 3 x 3yo runs, the last off OR74. Leave the 'Time' to one side you would say that PoCool looked more of a 'racehorse' and more versatile in terms of movement than Jazz Legend (short striding, fast action). PoC ok for OR80+ and a taller, lengthier 'Type 2' Royal Applause and ought to develop ok.

Disappointing effort by Devilish Guest and at a classic time in the season when Channon should be showing his best 2yos and some should win FTO. So far he has run a lot of own-breds and a good number he still owned. Last work Gallop video shows him pulling clear of Ingleby Mackenzie & King Of Spades. Looking similar height to PoC but more chunky. Slightly niggled by Halfway and did not stretch out nor stretch when asked into the last 2f and dropped last quickly. Suspect the going will be cited as the problem. Have to believe he is a solid OR80+ one.
