- 1999 foal, 16hh. Cost 28,000 as a yearling and 66,000gns at 2yo, trained by R.M. Whitaker. Won four races, all over 6f, between 2yo and 3yo. First season sire in 2007.
- Made juvenile debut over 5f in the Listed Roses Stakes on August 22nd, finishing 7th of 8. Won three of his 5 later starts. Successful in a 6f maiden (by 6 lengths) on his second run followed by third places in the valuable Doncaster St Leger Sales (to Acclamation & Old Blue Eyes) and the Listed 5f Harry Rosebury Stakes. Then won the Redcar 2yo Trophy (from Old Blue Eyes) and finally the Group 2 Criterium De Maisons-Lafitte (from War Zone).
- At three ran unplaced twice in March over Nad Al Sheba's dirt 6f course (Listed & Grade 1) followed by an eleventh place in the French 2000 Guineas (43/1 and his only run beyond 6f and weakening quickly later in the race). After a break from May to October he won an Irish Listed race on his return and then second in a Group 3 at Maisons-Lafitte.
- Ran three times at 4yo starting with a second place in Ireland, followed with unplaced runs over 5f in France and his final start in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.
- Stands at Ballyhane stud in Ireland at a fee of €5,000 in 2006 (increased to €6,000 for 2007). Had a large first crop and 113 yearlings were offered at major European sales with 93 actually sold on. His average was close to 25,000 guineas with the median at 15,700gns.
- From the second crop of a sire who has gained a high reputation. He is the second Group winning colt from Pivotal's early crops to have 2yo runners. Kyllachy made a solid impression in 2006 and it will be interesting to see how Captain Rio fares. He showed higher class form at 2yo than Kyllachy who developed to Group class as a 4yo.
- 2005 to 2015 Wins List.
