4/1 at Thirsk and drawn wide in the centre. Broke second best and driven
along in the first furlong to maintain this advantage. Second behind Thornton
Princess (drawn next to him and got to the rail soon after the the first
furlong and set a good pace that stretched the field by halfway).
Dropped back to 3rd and more than 3L off the leader at halfway. Made a
brief effort after to halfway to close up to within 2.5L of second before
a slight fade in the last furlong. Estimate [58]
Just mild promise on debut in a moderate contest and looking a little short
of pace against two 'nippy' fillies. Steps up to 7f on a faster course
and off only 6 days break. Drawn 7 of 8 and away from the rail again.
Trainer has a good record in the race with a winner (for this owner) and
a runner up in the last two seasons.
In summary will need to show more pace to get a position than he did on
debut and will need to finish the race off better. Likely to be favourite
but a niggle over whether he will be suited to the track. May be poor value
