May 27th: Wolverhampton 6f Maiden	Made a good price at the select session of the Tattersalls part 1 sales. Not high by the standards of a sale where 6 figure prices were common and a number made 7 figures. Less than some of the recent foals and probably slightly below the sire's average whose yearlings sold well. First season sire has a very good but quite stout pedigree. He ran only once at 2yo winning an 8f maiden on October 28th. He showed his best form over 10-12f at 3yo. B2yoR reviewed 25 of his yearlings and they were a varied group but with a high proportion of good quality. They came in a wide variety of sizes but most of the better types were notably well built. Dam was a good class sprint 2yo and won the Ayr Gold Cup at 3yo. She produced 6 winners in six years 1993-9 with 5 winning at 2yo and 4 above average quality. As with many dams her recent record is less good with her last three foals managing three poor runs between them at 2yo and one that cost 120k gns as a yearling was sold for 1.5k gns after making those three runs. Major trainer does not target 2yo racing and has a moderate record with them. The last three seasons have been poor. He is notable for not targeting strong debuts and debut wins are very rare (usually with Maktoum owner breds in later season). Trainer has had one STO winner with his only previous runner in 2005 who was a cheaper sales buy for non Arab owners. In summary an interesting but very mixed pedigree. Trainer would be unlikely to run him this early unless he was relatively forward. Possibly suggests he's on the small side as the sire's yearlings were a variable group. June 14th: York 7f Listed	16/1 at Wolverhampton and outpaced early in a race with a good pace. More than 5L off the lead at halfway. Stratham nipped 2L clear into the straight and looked the likely winner but faded in the last half furlong. An outpaced group including this one and Brenda Meova (also in the race) stayed on together and he finished 2nd. Estimate [63] Profile [78]
July 11th: Windsor 6f Maiden	8/1 at York and tracked an average pace in 6th. Outpaced as the race pressed on 2f out an dthen faded in the last furlong. Finished 8th. Estimate [65] Drops back to 6f after appearing not to stay an average 7f LTO. However, the overall form of that race is looking a little suspect with the midfield runners not competing well subsequently. On evidence so far he seems to lack the pace for 6f and would need this to be a strongly run race that he could stay on later into. Vulnerable to more natural 6f types from a middle draw.
