33/1 at Doncaster. Looked more mature than the sales but similar in some
ways. Still just medium size but with a heavy build. Powerful behind but
still a little weak in front.
Broke well from a wide draw and second just behined the leader (who won)
at the end of the first furlong. Slightly outpaced and got shuffled back
as the field grouped on the rail, settled 7th and 3L off the leader at
halfway. No progress against the first three but made two places as two
of the early pacemakers faded. Estimate [52]
A solid debut by trainer standards but finished just behind a runner who
had been placed in a seller on his last run. Form of the race is difficult
to read but the second has won a weak race since and the 10th placed on
the AW.
Trainer runs two with J Egan on this one and W Supple on newcomer Ponty
