April 13th: Declared
Newmarket 5f Mf |
Not sold for middling price at sales.
By veteran sire who has a good record with 2yos. Has better record at 6f+
but can get precocious 5f types.
Dam has 8f+ pedigree and was unplaced in Italy.
Trainer in his second season training after return from Hong Kong. Previously
had a very good record with 2yos and notable for having runners fit and
competent on debut.
In 2004 the earliest debuts competed well but none won (including those
that were backed). He said he had been caught out by the gallops at Newmarket
compared to Manton (where he trained before going to Hong Kong) and did
not have those early debuts fit enough. The earliest debut runners were
80+ rated winners later in the season.
In summary a moderate to average pedigree for an owner breeder so not chosen
at the sales by the trainer. Likely to be competent on debut although not
obviously likely to be an average+ winner. Profile [65]

April 13th: Newmarket
Post Race |
Trainer's first runner of the season and shortened from 6/1 to 5/1 in a
market that was static overall. She ran a similar race to his earliest
debuts in 2004 looking competent but not competitive to win and probably
not good enough to compete with the best fillies here. In 2004 the earliest
debuts included runners which were backed on debut and beaten. She ran
close to the pace on the far side and appeared to run to her ability. Estimate

May 2nd: Warwick
5f Maiden Fillies' |
The trainer's earliest debuts in 2004 had long breaks to STO and this one
runs after a fairly typical break. The form of her debut 5th looks less
good now following the defeats of the 2nd and 3rd on their next runs. The
fourth from that race runs 10 minutes before this race.
Trainer targets STO wins and has chosen a reasonable target given the ability
she showed on debut. Profile [69]

June 17th: York
6f Fillies' Group 3 |
13/8f at Warwick in a poor to moderate race. Won comfortably after being
a neck off the leader at halfway, making an effort to go 1L clear into
the final furlong. A solid, porfessional performance. Estimate

May 29th ran in Italy at Capanelle over 5.5f. 3/1 second favourite
and finished fourth in a bunched finish and just over 1L behind Ooh Aah
Camara.
Difficult to place on overall form but trainer is notable for being able
to get early 2yos well prepared and relatively forward in overall training.
