April 28th: Redcar
5f Auction |
Retained for low price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales.
Sire has average record with 2yos. Gets the occasional 5f winner but better
over 6f+.
Older dam was a winner in the US and most of her early foals raced there
or in Japan. She has presumably been imported to the UK and her last two
foals have been moderate 6f+ 2yos here. This trainer raced the latest.
The trainer does not target FTO wins and although his FTO runners have
been more competent in 2003-4 only the very best types tend to win.
Trainer has debuted eleven 2yos in April in 2003-4 and all have been later
winners, the majority average or better. Only the superior 2yos Attraction
and Joseph Henry have won on debut from that group.
He has had four FTO runners in 2005 and three were prominent for 3f+ before
fading and not untypical trainer debuts. One of those runners has improved
to win a moderate race STO.
The latest debut yesterday was uncompetitive and never got into his race
(and he was a half brother to Joseph Henry).
In summary likely to be a moderate type and short of his best here. Profile

May 7th: Beverley
5f Maiden |
Drifted from 9/2 to 9/1 on debut at Redcar and was more than 3 lengths
off the pace at halfway and starting to fade. Outpaced from then on and
faded. Estimate [45]
Showed only minor ability in a faster 5f at Redcar and no suggestion he
had better ability. Moderately drawn here in 5 of 14. Profile

May 21st: Carlisle
6f Auction |
Drifted to 10/1 at Beverley. Broke ok but notably outpaced after 1F in
a race with a good pace for the conditions (three of the first four came
from well off the pace finishing up the centre of the course). Plugged
on a little in the centre late in the race but a number of others kept
on better from similar positions. Estimate [34]
Steps up to 6f after getting outpaced earlyish in the race over 5f twice.
