  • Owner bred by N Westbrook and a long-time supporter of the stable. Owned St Leger winner Bollin Eric for instance who now stands at the National Stud where the first season sire Golden Snake also is.
  • By first season sire who made a moderate impression at the sales and had limited chances. He had a mixed pedigree and show just useful form over 7-8f at 2yo and developed to be a Group 1 winner abroad over middle distances.
  • The dam was a winner around 5f but rated around 60 at best. She was tried over 6-7.5f as a 2yo and early at 3yo before starting to win when dropped back to 5f in minor races. She is well related to various types including Group 1 14f Bollin Eric and sprinter Bollin Joanne.
  • Trainer does not target strong debuts and has made a slow start to the season. There were signs he was starting to run his better types with four fillies running three days ago and one 'accidental' debut win.
  • The trainer has run a range of types in this race in the last three seasons. He runs two today and this probably the second string on jockeys.
  • In summary an unproven pedigree both in terms of distance requirements and likely quality. Trainer has shown signs that he is starting to run his better types but not obvious that this will be one of those. Difficult to place so put as an 'average' debut.  Profile [53]

  • 14/1 on debut with trainer first string (runs in Div II) at 4/1. In 6th early after breaking well. Driven along on the uphill climb and over 2L off the leader at halfway. Losing ground after that and outpaced and faded in the straight.  Estimate [15]
  • A poor debut and looked to lack pace and finished behind smaller, nipper seller types. Steps up to 7f at the first opportunity in a race the trainer uses mainly for slow types.  Likely to be a moderate improvement and others to be plain faster.  Profile [46]
