April 26th: Bath
5f Auction |
Made lowish price at Tattersalls Ireland sales.
By First Season Sire who made later season 7f debut as a 2yo and won up
to 12f later. Mixed results at sales and a number of his yearlings looked
neat, sprint types despite his own record.
Sire has had one poor runner so far (who is also in this race).
Dam was an above average 5f winner in Ireland. She has proved disappointing
at stud after producing a superior winner with her 1995 foal.
Trainer used to be assistant to R Hannon and is developing his own style
since he started in 2001. He tends not to target strong debuts except with
particular runners. These tend to leave to shorter SPs (8/1 or less compared
to 10/1+ normally).
In summary unless strongly backed likely to be a development debut.

6f Maiden |
50/1 on debut at Bath in a slow race run on softish going. Outpaced early
and never in the race finishing with moderate 2yos. Estimate [29]
Steps up to 6f after a break. Trainer has not got going with his 2yos yet.
Likely to be another development run in this solid maiden. Profile

6f Auction |
Paddock reviewed at Leicester and rated rated 63. Below average size and
just average build. In proportion overall but not fully fit.
66/1 and never competitive in a race with an average pace. More than 5L
behind at halfway and lost further ground. Estimate [29]
Looks a limited type although should be capable of a better rating but
appears to be being developed with racing. Profile [42 + 4 = 46]
