Made good price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales.
First season sire cost $1.5M as a yearling and won a Group 3 over 7f at
2yo after an August debut. He made an acceptable impression at the sales.
B2yor reviewed 13 of his yearlings and they were a solid group although
lacking higher quality.
The dam is well related but showed poor form from 6-12f. However, she has
produced two useful 6f 2yos as well as more moderate types.
Veteran trainer targets 2yo racing and has a good record. Notable for having
a plan for most 2yos and being flexible enough to use whatever approach
is needed to give best chance of a win.
Trainer does not target FTO wins although they are usually competent so
the better runners can place or occasionally win on debut. Runners often
10lbs or more below best on debut.
He has had one previous runner in 2005 who was uncompetitive on debut and
ran into a tougher than normal race at Brighton STO when 3rd STO.
The trainer used the race in 2002 to introduce an above average developmental
2yo.
In summary likely to be an average winner over 6f+ and might develop a
little further. Likely to need this debut to develop from Profile

The 'word' seemed to be out that he was 'useful' and he opened 11/8f and
received support and ended as 6/4jf with Peace And Love (good previous
form). The trainer does not target debut wins other than occasionally with
his useful+ 2yos. The debut wins tend to be supported in the market but
late on and unusual for this one to open as favourite. He made an acceptable
debut for the trainer without looking 'special'. However, the jockey gave
the impression that today wasn't 'The day' and he was happy with a quiet,
educational ride and debut.
Broke ok and settled in second early around 2 lengths behind the pacemaker.
The jockey made minor request for effort inside 2f out and there was a
minor response and then he was allowed to come home with the jockey doing
enough to ensure third. Finished just in front of a number of 'lesser'
types. Estimate [69]
Had looked a small but notably heavy type at the sales. He looked to have
the build to develop to be a strong 2yo but needed to develop his athleticism.
This was a possibility because the previous foal - Umniya- had shown similar
development to rate in the mid 80s. The betting market on his debut suggested
he has developed and the vibes were that he was useful at least. His performance
in the race suggested the trainer and jockey were happy with a normal educational
debut that the stable has. On normal trainer methods we should see a lot
more of what he is capable of STO and he receives weight from the previous
winners here. Profile [78 + 2 = 80]

May 22nd: Brighton
6f Novice |
Opened 6/4 and finished 11/8f with none of the other runners supported.
Still looked a compact and chunky type lacking some range although strong.
Fit enough. Ran slightly freely early but settled tracking the leader More
Time (also in this race). Half a length off an average pace at halfway
he showed only a little change-of-pace to get past the leader as the race
'started' inside 2f from home. Lead going into the final furlong but caught
and slightly outpaced late by Green Pride. Estimate [75]
Steps up to 6f and drops to the trainer's preferred course for trying to
ensure wins. Sisblings have tended to be better at 6f+. Profile [75

4/5f at Brighton and looked an improved horse over 6f. Slightyl free early
and settled close up in second. Pulled through to lead 2f out and went
clear comfortably and won with something in hand. Estimate [75]
Unpenalised for his win. Profile [84 + 3 = 87]
