April 6th: Declared for
Nottingham 5f Maiden |
Retained for lowish price at Tattersalls October sales part two.
By second season sire who made a good start with 2yos in 2004 with a solid
number of winners and notable for some good quality types. Got 5f winners
but runners tended to be better from May onwards.
Dam unraced and has 6f pedigree. Has produced two moderate to average runners
that needed 7f at 2yo so far. The one winner was with the same trainer
and owner.
The trainer does not target FTO wins and although his FTO runners have
been more competent in 2003-4 only the very best types tend to win.
Trainer has debuted eleven 2yos in April in 2003-4 and all have been later
winners, the majority average or better. Only the superior 2yos Attraction
and Joseph Henry have won on debut from that group.
He has had one runner in 2005 who was in front rank for 3f+ before a fade
and a not untypical trainer debut. That runner was favourite.
In summary a mixed pedigree and likely to be a moderate to average type
that the trainer will try hard to win a race with for her owner breeder.
However, unless she's unexpectedly useful that's likely to take 2-3 runs
and possibly a drop in class. [Also, as a general rule horses given daft
names end up in sellers and claimers so another negative] Profile

April 6th: Nottingham
Post Race |
Ran a similar race to her trainer's other debut so far in 2005. She led
early and stayed prominent until fading from around one furlong out.
The race was on soft ground and the pacemakers stalled and faded. In this
context she did enough to suggest she can be a minor early winner in line
with her trainer's record with 2yos debuting in April. Estimate

April 12th: Declared
Musselburgh 5f Auction |
Runs 6 days after debut and showed enough there to suggest she can develop
to be a minor winner without suggesting she has 70+ ability. Penalised
2lb for sales price. Expect moderate improvement. Profile [56
