6f Fillies' Auction |
Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
Good sire tends to get 2yos that are physically very similar although often
slightly small, compact, heavy & strong build and not particularly
taking.
Sire had a remarkably good 2004 both for number of winners and quality
and possibly reflecting the better mares he got after his good start at
stud. He has a good record in getting 6f winners.
He has had two winners (5-6f) from 4 runners so far, one on debut.
Dam an average 6f 2yo winner has produced two foals that ran once only
at 2yo. The first has developed into a useful 8f+ handicapper.
Trainer does not target strong debuts and FTO wins are rare. He has had
one win and two places from 16 debuts in 2005. The debut win was at 20/1
in a race where the odds-on favourite 'failed'.
He runs two in the race (which he often does) with the other a bottomweight
3TO ridden by D Allan (probably because he can do 8-2) and W Supple on
this one.
In summary a solid pedigree and the sire can add the 2yo precociousness
to the overall qualities from the dam's side. Trainer gets rare competitive
debuts although one by this sire would be more likely than most.
