May 12th: York
6f Maiden |
Made a good price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 68 with a well above average chance of
being a 2yo winner. Above average size and build; lengthy and more heavily
built in front. Needed to develop neatness and her reach in movement.
By sire with a very good and consistent record with 2yos. Gets early, precocious
sprinters and good record with debut runners. Solid percentage of useful+
2yos. Notable for runners having better record on GF+ going.
Sire has had one winner this season on firmer ground at Redcar. The going
has generally been softer so far in 2005 and the going at York is likely
to be GS at best.
Trainer does not target strong debuts and FTO wins are rare. He has had
one win and two places from 15 debuts in 2005. The debut win was at 20/1
in a race where the odds-on favourite 'failed'.
Trainer has run four 2yos on debut at the meeting in 2002-4 with one win
(9/4), one second place (16/1) and two unplaced. Two of the four were useful
2yos and the other two showed 70+ form.
In summary likely to make a 70+ rated 2yo but would need to be superior
to get involved in this quite tough maiden as a filly versus colts. The
ground may well be to her disadvantage. Profile [67]
