April 2nd: Declared
for Doncaster Auction |
Lowish price for DSL sales and a rather low price for his sire whose yearlings
sell very well.
Reviewed at the sales and smallish but ok build type of sire. Rather short
and weaker in front but rated 66 and reasonable chance of being able to
rate 60s at 2yo.
By sire with a very good and consistent record with 2yos. Gets early, precocious
sprinters and good record with debut runners. Solid percentage of useful+
2yos. Notable for runners having better record on GF+ going.
Dam has good pedigree but not precocious and needed 12f at 3yo to show
her best. Has produced one poor runner that sold for 100k.
Trainer targets 2yo racing and this is his first runner of the season.
His very earliest debuts tend to include around 4 winners (some useful)
out of 5. A longer SP (16/1+) would be a negative.
Trainer has not had a runner in the race 2003-4 but previously had introduced
two good 2yos in Artie and Cumbrian Venture.
In summary a good pedigree but physical review has shown a type likely
to be limited to 60s rating. Trainer does not target FTO wins and as this
is his first runner of the season it would be a surprise if he were competitive
to win. Being an early runner for the trainer he has a fair chance of being
a minor 2yo winner and a placing around 3rd-5th would be a positive. [54]

April 2nd: Doncaster
Post Race |
Started 12/1 and ran a fairly typical trainer debut at least keeping on
in midfield at the end of the race. [51]

5f Auction |
The form of his debut run looks moderate and possibly over-rated. The trainer
has only had on STO runner so far in 2005 and he ran to a lower rating.
Ought to show reasonable improvement but not guaranteed and difficult to
place. Profile [62]
