RM Beckett (All Debuts) - Hesketh (Leicester 6:15) & Mr Udawaga
(Lingfield 3:30). Three debut wins to date and showed his ability with
cheap purchases with Poyle Meg 2nd at 25/1 on debut at Windsor on Monday
(in a weak 6f fillies' maiden). These are two more expensive purchases
and Hesketh, with Seb Sanders aboard, ought to be a strong debut.

Splinter Cell (Leicester 6:15, M Botti, All Debuts). Confirmed his
prepraration for debut with another placed debut on Monday (Captainrisk
at 9/1 was clear a furlong from home and responded to get back to second
once passed & might have won racing with the other horses rather than
on his own in mid-track).
-
Sabi Star (Sandown, JHM Gosden, June To August debuts). Debut wins
tend to come with the high class runners. Two debut winners this month
have been Doctor Crane (went on to win a Conditions race at Newbury STO
over last weekend) and Rainbow View (won by six lengths looking a better
class type). Runs in a traditionally tough Sandown 7f maiden and will need
to be well above average to win in a solid group.
-
Cry Of Freedom (Sandown, M Johnston, 7f debuts). Trainer behind
schedule and four 7f debuts (just restarting after a break from a mid June
batch) have produced a short priced placed and three unplaced. One of those
unplaced (Mannlichen) has run well over 7f STO on Sunday and, on TV, pictures
the reason for the improvement was clear. A very big horse and an 8f galloper
lacking tactical speed and presumably unable to show his best on his early
(for the trainer) debut. Allowed to make his own pace in his own rhythm
on a flat, straight track and he showed what he is.
-
However, he had his first debut winner of the season on Monday (6f) and
he usually sends better types (open maiden winner quality at least = say
OR77-82) to runs at places like Sandwon & Goodwood. He didn't run any
in the earlier Sandown 7f maiden which Zacinto turned into a rout which
was unusual since he normally has at least one ready for that race.
