      October 13th Summary : 
     
    Race Virtual Paddocks FTO P&L Qualifiers
    • Rag And Bone  (Kempton 4:10, BJ Meehan, September+ Debuts). Missed an intended debut at Newbury last Thursday. Runs in what appears the weaker division with 5 fillies in the first race having achieved a B2yoR estimate higher than any in the second. Jamie Seencer rides and the best of the opposition may need to come from Beautiful Filly  who ran moderately FTO but at an SP of just 5/1 and David Simcock seems to be doing less strong debuts this year. Gary Moore introduces a breeze-up purchase with Diamond Til that cost 40,000 guineas.
    • James Eustace isn't in the tracking but is an interesting trainer and gets regular debut winnersthrough the years with the better types he has. He has a 10-89 record in the last 9 years at an 11.2% strike rate. Remember that 6% would be average for a trainer and Mr Eustace doesn't have a range of high class horses to win maidens half done - they win through preparation at home. He has run seven 2yos to date and the only one to manage a win (Joe Caster last week) was well backed before a 2nd (to Art Connoissuer so he had no chance of winning that) at Leicester in April. The second runner of the year was third on debut and hasn't been able to progress.
    • His debut winners include a number for owner-breeder JC Smith (Lochsong, Persian Punch and all that). Last year his only debut winner was Lady Avenger (at 10/1 as his first juvenile to race) for Mr Smith. He runs two for the owner at Windsor on debut, one in each division of the 6f maiden. He has said positive things about both Integria & Geneva Geyser in early season in early season and a little surprising they appear so late in the year. Given the preparation they are near the top of the list for the paddock reviewer to report back on for the day. In the first Division Standpoint represents a tough obstacle to winning of course. He ran much better than the final 4th place suggests last time when he got involved in a suicidal pace duel over 7f at Wolverhampton and drops back to 6f. That all-weather race is fascinating to review if you have the access with the 66/1 winner scrubbed along out the back early and still barely in the picture late on until the leaders collapsed.
