- Howard Johnson and had been a farmer and NH trainer until he linked up with businessman Graham Wylie in 2002. Mr Wylie had built up the Sage Software Group (notable for accountancy packages) and took a back seat to spend more time spending his considerable wealth. Wylie and Johnson have set set up the "Transcend Bloodstock" joint venture to run the 2yos they purchase (purple colours). The Wylie owned NH horses run in the sage green and beige colours.
- Reported in early 2008 that his existing stables had grown to 160 boxes (his father, Roy, had 30 and a dairy herd in his day). In addition the Transcend company had built a new facility 3 miles away at Stonechester with 43 boxes and this will be in use in 2008.
- Has a solid record with 2yos although he has admitted that he is still learning about training young horses for the flat. In his development seasons his 2yos have tended to be at their best in their early runs and their form has tailed off. THis may be an area which will change a little as he develops his method with 2yos.
