2Going Soft but conditions much tougher than that & times suggest Heavy. Also a stiff headwind. Only one 6f race at course slower than the pair today since 2002. Times above 78s rare. Faster time than Div I but a more even pace. Bigger TITTMax & free Flaneur form up and 1st five home came from within 2.5L of lead and leaders' fades less complete. Daniella De Bruijn shown a hold up Run Style & staying finish before and ideal for this race and win comfortably. Proved she stays on heavy going. Still not proven for fast 6f. COTGlen a solid debut for trainer who prepares well but probably low OR70s at best. As with the first Division the overall form of the race is suspect in general terms because of the unusual conditions. Trusting this form to transfer to faster conditions would be incorrect. Flaneur improve and can do a little better if can learn to settle. Despite blinkers looking willing enough in tough conditions. Sejanus showed less promise than trainer's runner in Div I. Both Mark Johnston runners do poorly and these conditions against their normal level of preparation. Trainer does not tend to start better ones off in later May. |
