SUMMARY
2Field race just off stands' rail. Slow time & similar Rating to - eased - 2yo Seller winner.
KOAx slow pace & effort just after Hf. Head held to right & a scratchy mover. He was outpaced by the winner & looked to try hard but movement issue seems to limit him.
Niran 1L behind KoA at halfway & smooth progress to go past him by 2F out. If he had stretched out & pulled 2-3L clear then a good effort & perhaps go to the Coventry Stakes. Once in front did not really go forward though. Jockey hard on him inside last 1F even though clear & perhaps felt him stopping in front. Appeared able to do better but not apply himself. Trainer said he had worked with older lead horses so he knew he was a better one before his debut. He said the lead horses make him stretch out so he knows what to do. Perhaps he wasn't used to getting to the front & pulling clear from the training.
Brisbane another green effort from an early Gosden 2yo to add to the pile. Gave a lot of trouble loading and wrestled in blindfolded finally. Green & head up when asked to make effort & drop back. Pick up in final 1F to close towards Niran. Some promise but needs to grow up. Smaller than Niran.
Hints of promise from other pair from trainers whose debuts are often uncompetitive. Excellent Guest made a brief effort as the pace increased but soon hung left & fade. Trainer often runs best he has in these Yarmouth Novices.
England for trainer with poor 2yo record. Held up in last by Spencer in slow race.
