2Fast conditions & fastest 5f race time from 2002 on. Only two other times under 59s seconds in period with Spin Cycle doing 58.98 in same race in 2008 with 5lbs more & Circuit Dancer 58.8 in later season 2002. 5 in line from rail outwards early as Cap-Reign-DK-KATG-GE. Others within 2-3L except for DFreddy who lost ground in the first 1f for no obvious reason & jockey nigling away. KATG pay for effort of attending pace & fade badly. GEarl hang right before halfway & finish on far rail. Saddle had probably slipped out of position. Capercailie led at Hf & both DK (held up this time) & Reignier make efforts to challenge her inside 2f out. DK fade inside final 1f & not see 5f out again despite being held. Capercailie respond & going away from Reignier at finish. Had advantage of rail & lead but completed win so professionally with something left she should be competitive at Group level. Slight problem with what to make of DFreddy's run? Clear run in centre & probably going past faders but higher rating than profile. Poss improved but check whether NOTT win was under-rated. ARoad held 3L+ off lead & make modest progress. That would seem ok given fast race but why could DF do it? AR below best form level. EInstinct had no excuse & FTO win over-valued?. Mr Smithsonnot fast enough for this & plugged on as usual. North Central run ok in tough race & unblanaced at times. Responded quite well late in race after getting outpaced. Track NTO. |
