SUMMARY

2Field race Stands' side off rail with higher drawn going left to race outer of group or in behind. Winner held back by 5L early to drop behind group & made ground in later race along stands' rail. Ascot straight course bias can be difficult to read & interacts with pace-of-race. But, definite better wide strip along stands' side & allow closers in last 1.5f especially. Racing in centre track a negative. Better strip on far rail.
Pace in this race very strong & comparing final positions to those at Hf tells the story. Yog. make early effort to go 2L clear but settle after 1F & not better type anyway. SR & HNAW press on to join him at 1F & KoL effort to them at 1.5F. MrC stay closer to pace than normal & 1.5L back at Hf in 5th. Others at 2-6L back at Hf. Pace meant 1st 4 stalling 2f out. 5-7th at Hf make forward moves to 1.5f out & R'head & N'dive closing up as well. Reignier & Tawb. get clear runs to 1st&2nd then stalling inside last 1f as pace & efforts told. Yog. jink left as fade & bump MrC who bumped R'head. MrC closer to pace & only brief response then stall. R'head held off pace & making ground on best strip. Had power left to finish well & catch stalled pair of leaders. Good type & a trier.
N'dive hampered more & respond when switched.
1st 4 at Hf fade badly. Midfield at Hf had enough left to make brief efforts but race set up for closers by pace. DLG not fast enough to make use of good Hf spot. V strong, can improve. MrC show more pace but would have faded without bump.
