2Firm going (not GFG) & a stiff tailwind led to fast times. 5f course record broken by older Raccoon (OR64). 2yos ran the stands' rail. SecMillionaire drawn on rail, broke well, & set stiff pace there. This spread the field out and the last 5 early filled the last 5 places due to incompetence & inability. Only relative changes in position in the 1st 7 as they were outpaced & faded. SecMill made an effort to halfway to go 1L clear and this dropped Gillburg from 3rd to 6th & he never recovered. He was outpaced at this point & never really faded but did not go forward when asked in the final 1.5f with Head Up & poss feeling ground. The pressure SecMill applied saw the free-runners KAphrodite & Ignatieff fade notably. It also outpaced RDVitesse who dropped to 4th & driven. Leaders faded notably late in the rac and allowed RDV to close into them by fading less than they did. Low OR60s form and not a taking group in paddock review. Form to treat with caution with 3rd & 4th ones to be waryof STO. Two of some interest way back in the field. Flaneur a bit wild and generally green and can get to around OR70 when he wises up. Ginger Ted first runner for trainer & that generally means a minor winner at some point - on type he can win a seller. |
