2Firm ground leading to 5 non-runners and another withdrawn at the post. Tailwind and fast times on the day. GSophia supported and Prettiest Star from 8/1 to close to favouritism. The four on STO in the first four places early with GS, Bebenine & RCCrunch forming a Line-of-3 on stands' rail and set a stiff pace for limited fillies. These 3 were four lengths clear of Sheka at halfway. The 3 newcomers left behind early because of the pace and varying degrees of incompetence. PStar nothing got going into any stride or rhythm. The pace meant the L-of-3 fillies were flagging by inside the final 2f with the tiny RCC the first dropped. GS & Bebenine gone as they entered the final furlong and rolling home together. Sheka had closed up to them by 1F out and had to switch inside through the gap by the rail left by RCC. She trundled past GS & Bebe. to lead late. FPleasure 7 lengths back at halfway and still 4L off at 1F out. Made 2L plus late to go past faders and challenge Sheka on the line Poor form & not a group of fillies to follow. GS & Bebe can show better form off easier pace but OR50s to 60s stuff. FP ok for low level win & PStar worth another chance on easier ground. |
