SUMMARY

2Dry week and fast times previous two days. Rain shower for 30mins+ just before racing. Result on previous two days on straight course suggested a Far Side bias.
Silver Cup run just before this race saw low drawn horses with a notable advantage. Gold Cup after this race saw the first 7-8 home on the far side and a reasonable estimate of 3-5L disadvantage of being on the Stands' Side.
Note that in the Gold Cup, in response to the previous results only 8 of the 25 runner field stayed Stands' Side. Winner came up Centre-Far strip.
This race broke into two Groups early with the majority going far side immediately. A small Group drawn near the Stands' Rail initially went left as if to follow this Group. They then abandoned the move & ended up racing well off the Stands' rail.
Beyond Desire typically fizzy & sweaty as befitting an MA Jarvis 2yo & always led the Stands' side Group & at some disadvantage over the first 3 who all raced Far Side.
