2Very Strong Wind. Across the track towards stands but partly a tailwind. Stalls stretched across track from far rail. Racing on course showed an Advantage racing prominently on the far side. A particular bias showed up if getting close to the Far Rail. Centre-Far groups could compete with those racing on the Far Side but off the rail. The Cambridgeshire was won by the frontrunner against the Far Rail throughout with his runner-up tracking him on the rail from the start. Bias so obvious that entire field raced Centre to Far Side in that 30+ runner event. This the 3rd race on the Card and the last in which any runners attempted to run Centre to Stands' Side. Jockey of a the winner = a leader on the Far Rail = said he had never seen the Stands' side Group through the race they were so far back. T O'Shea reported that his Stands' Side Group were 10L adrift of the Far Side Leader at halfway despite feeling they were going a solid pace. Alfred Nobel 1st home on the Stands' Side clear of his Group but adrift of the Far Side leaders. Winner & Second here always prominent on Far Rail and 1 off it. |
