SUMMARY

Strong pace set by Sea Flower on rail ans she up the pace a notch shortly after halfway putting a number under pressure. She was still going Ok to 2F out and slightly delayed making her final effort. Ok response there and 1L clear to 1F out. Stalled later as would be expected and caught by a bulky colt but good professional effort. Can improve rating.
Waltz Darling yet another FTO winer for Fahey at the typical time of the year for him to get them in a year when he was also getting a batch in early year. WD a notably big and heavy sprinter (known as 'Big Dave' in the stable) and not wound up here. Good effort to keep close enough to a stiff pace and make a forward effort from a good stalking run while still looking a little green. Can improve further and definite OR84+.
Lady Amakhala an unusual run. Adrift in last place (12L+ back) after a slow start and then losing ground before halfway (probably green). Still look green but back to group 1F out and plug on to work past the faders, stallers and eased. A lot of rolling around and unbalanced horses int he last 2F and a number allowed to coast home. Which meant LA going past 'trees' but check.
Some positive for BD for getting to front rank from wide draw but soon outpaced after halfway and faded worst but seemed to get quite unbalanced.
In deference to previous Paddock Review probably not the time to give up on SShine & Sky Diamond. SD not show fully willing attitude in early season on softer ground and not convinve with attitude here. But some minor excuses here because hampered before 2F out as BD rolled onto him on the rail. One of those to get a bit unbalanced on the 1.5F out Ramp and jockey packed it in then as if this was a '3TO Run' perhaps to prime him for Nurseries (start in early July). Ought to be OR70s so see what he gets as an OR for nurseries.
SShine a nutcase on debut and rearing in the stalls here. Jockey Hills not looking to get involved but to teach him to settle and race. Mostly anonymous (an inprovement on FTO) until eased. Bulky OR80ish sprinter and better than he has shown so track. Interesting to note that winner bigger and bulkier all round than SShine to make the point about his size and strength.
