SUMMARY
 Field race Far Side to Centre past halfway. Main Group within 5L of lead at that point. Other races suggested advantage to being Stands side of Centre and this race would support that. First three home were the three that raced widest towards the Stands Side in the last 3f and pulling away together. Rest of field stayed Centre to stands side. 4th-6th home made efforts closer towards Far Rail and worth checking how they do in future compared tot he first three. Marden a liekable type and did best of those racing Far Side and perhaps close to the best of the field? He was originally carrying the second colours to NR Mantoba which would suggest that one is useful.
3 inches on Rain at the Course in the previous week and 1 inch since the declarations made.
Three 7f maidens for 2yos on day with two Divisions of this Fillies' race.
Evidence during the day that the Stands' Side was faster than the Far Side. The two fillies races ran mostly towards the far rail with Div I faster by 1.4 seconds. The males' race spread out wider and the first two home were on the Centre-Stands side strip (having been 4-6th going nowhere towards the last 1f with the Far Side runners looking likely to win but then fading notably. Might have been the pace on the rain softened ground causing the issue but presume some effect from the strips of track run on. The males race run in 1.15 seconds faster than the quicker fillies' race. All carried same weight.
This the fastest 7f of the day but more than 1 second slower than any run on course during the summer (mostly on faster ground). Only 0.01s faster than the slowest run here in 2009 (in a seller).
