Improved run from SBeet & trainer said she had finally shown what he thought she was capable of. He felt she had run too freely at times before. Got an uncontested lead here and able to produced a taking effort for the level and real increase in rating (not just the, incorrect, any winner must have improved nonsense. Which 15 seconds thinking about the widespread applicability of a Normal Distribution would tell you just cannot work). Alfraamsey one of a raft of expendable Channon 2yos in nurseries which have been supported lately. Many of these have been running since early season and have had many outings. After managing to find earlier season races to win their OR marks have declined with multiple poor Nursery runs. A number should already be on usable OR marks but not showing much life. Saucy Buck and Master Macho others of the same type. Stable have had 5 winners in the last 5 weeks from a lot of runners and mixed form overall. Some of early starters running well like Singapore Lilly & Galtymore Lad but the wins mostly from later starters on outings 1-4 and not the 'Old Lags'. A number have looked sour and not competing including Saucy Buck & Chilworth Lad. Alfraamsey just looks ouchy on recent runs and not getting involved. Looking back he owes his clear win to the strip of Concrete on the Stands' Rail at Newcastle and started on too high an OR because of that. Down from OR78 to OR65 here after 5 x nursery runs but still no life visible. OOTS a poor favourite and has never managed to get involved in any of her previous races. Put up as an Eyecatcher in various places but has achieved nothing much and been slow in doing it. Held up again here and in a good spot to raise a challenge if the trundling on through faders she has shown before could be turned into a real forward effort. Head in the air and another looking pained to some extent when asked to get on with it and nothing happened. |
