 Going Soft with 7mm of rain since the end of yesterday's meeting & 14mm since Thur and 26mm since Weds. Showers on day expected. Going Stick Centre 8.1, Stands' 7.8 and Far Side 7.8 reading at 8:15am. Medium to Siff Breeze as a Headwind.

Hannon on his website = "We run two in the Chesham Stakes, Fort Bastion and Esentepe, and both look to have a decent draw. This was the race we had in mind for Fort Bastion before he had even run, and there was nothing to change our plan from his debut run at Haydock, where he chased home a smart colt in Mezaam. Sure, the winner was well beaten in the Coventry on Tuesday, but he had the coffin box draw and ran too free, so I would not read too much into that and I know how highly Barry (Hills) rates Mezaam. Our fellow is a lovely Lawman colt, and we think he'll run a big race. We also run Esentepe, who improved again when stepping up to six furlongs at Newbury last time. This seven will suit her even better."

Barry Hills' website = "Self Centred could well take part in The Chesham. She was very green on her only start, but it looked like a good race and she was doing all her best work towards the end. Hopefully she has improved from that experience."
