SUMMARY
Going Stick 9.0 (GF) having been 8.9 on April 16th (GFG, Ponty Acclaim) & 8.5 on April 7th (Good, Queens Revenge).

Solid pace but moderate form level. BShoes (Lane 1) & OKD (rail) hooked up early to make the pace with OKD still looking green and not travelling smoothly. Chevanah in 3rd on the rail at 2L through halfway with Excelette (giving weight to the others) outside her. MAnna in 5th another 2L+ back. Slow start from Metal Dealer and well adrift but victimised by MAnna at the stalls. Jockey on MAnna whipped the blindfold off his horse just before the gates opened and it landed on MD's jockeys head blinfolding him. MAnna then broke left handed and bumped MD out of contention with the group.

Leading pair stalling by 1f out and OKD fading by 0.5f out. Excelette going better than the winner 2f out and moved up with her but then hung away left in the final 1f. Ok promise giving weight and trainer Smart's debuts so far have not been good enough or ready enough to compete fully yet. Watch for his batch of better FTOs soon.

Chevanah driven along before 2f out but responded and able to get by the stalled BShoes in the last 1f and hold that one's late race response.

Ann Duffield on her blog on May 6th = "Chevanagh who, by rights should not really be with us but, thanks to a large chunk of both bad luck, and good luck, she is here and, has been doing well enough to suggest she can win races. Her owner/ breeder had been unable to sell her at Doncaster as a yearling. George and I had looked at her at the sales and really liked the free, easy moving filly with a kind eye, big ears and nice look about her but, having spent all our pennies earlier, had left for home before she entered the sales ring. Unsold, her owner/ breeder had put her back on the horse box destined for the ferry when friend and right hand man at the sales, JC stepped in and, recommending us to her owner, the box was duly stopped while a second lorry was sent to collect her for delivery at Sun Hill. Tonight she repaid us all by making her racecourse debut a winning one. Maria Anna also running the same race had not shown quite as much as Chevanagh had in her homework but, has shown enough to suggest winning is on the cards for her in future. The feisty filly by Amadeus Wolf rode like a colt and will improve significantly, according to her pilot, Paul Mulrennan. ."
