SUMMARY

SHV by Race Time. S from SGS two days prior with Going Stick reading from 06:15am. But rain forecast overnight and during the morning = 6mm of rain in morning before the race.

Light NW Wind - Three-quarter Headwind from the right. Stalls Stands' Side.

Field raced Stands' Rail with the first three at halfway racing in a wide spread Lo3 from early on. More of the same from Opt Out in travelling best, producing an increase in pace inside 2F out to go clear but then fading quickly in the last 1f and overhauled late on by a horse plugging on who could not match his pace. Pundit said he had done some hand-timed sectionals from Opt Out's Ayr run and come up with 13.4s for the 3rd furlong, 12.1s for the 4th (when he skipped clear looking improved on previous efforts) then 15.7s for the last 1F and the fade. 4th furlong kick not as pronounced here but still the fade and on a less stiff track. Odd mix, handles Heavy going ok but doe not stay 5f on it. Will he look less good on faster going or is the relative pace still there? 12s furlongs translate to what on fast going?

Megamunch offering to hang left and just plugging on to win. Municipal went the pace to halfway but then left behind and hanging right to the rail. Never quite faded.

Princess Cayan fizzy and very green int he prelims and ran the same way and unable to compete given the lack of nous. Some size positive but looked a suspect mover behind. Check STO.
