Rain and Heavy Showers forecast for the day. Max Temp forecast 14 deg C. Light to Medium WNW Wind = Three-Quarter Tailwind from the Right. Fast conditions on day with the tailwind. La Sylphe too free-running on turf on previous runs and seemd to have a problem LTO at CATT. Returned after a break and looked much more organised. Settled well setting a stiff pace in front and travelling well on the surface. Improved efforts and looked mid-OR60s type early season and OR63 in this moderate nursery and handling the surface well suited her. Can she run similarly better on turf? Early season form of Crystal Cove & Stripped Bear here [Est] ratings too high (site does not publish updated Ratings at present so use early ratings with caution and prefer more recent form). Both returning from breaks have also been too free-running in early season. Both ran similar races in being not able to travel comfortably within 1.5L of the pace LS set and so late fades for both. CC ought to be on a usable OR and see what shape of race he is in NTO. Lincolnrose unable to go pace and getting to 2nd by plugging on past the faders. Dil Laney's topweight OR65 hangs on 2 probably over-rated efforts in early season and surrounded by races where he has looked some combination of small and unwilling. Sooon getting behind here, not liking the kickback and rolling around. Probably has never run to OR65 and does not have the attititude to try at present. |
