SUMMARY
GFG from GGF two days prior. Going Stick Reading from 07:00am.

Rail out on Bend by 2-3yds. Course state this makes "negligible effect on race distances". Which seems unlikely. Measure it off, or do a bit of simple geometry, and give us a number, you idle pillock.

Medium to Stiff WNW Wind = Half Headwind from Right in Home Straight.

Hannon website post race = "Highlight was undoubtedly the success of Montiridge in the novice race at Sandown, though he had to work hard to beat our other horse, Baltic Knight in a photo-finish. The boss said: 'I did not really want to run both as they are two nice horses. Baltic Knight should soon go one better, while Montiridge is probably better than he looked as he went there half-cocked, having been forced to miss some work. I could have done with another 10 days, but we might now look at the Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday week.' Hughes has no doubt that Montiridge is Group material and was lavish in his praise of the Ramonti colt, who had been impressive first time out at Newbury. He said: 'Montiridge is a machine. He gives me the same sort of feel as does Toronado, and I think he is a bit special. I loved him the first day I saw him in the yard and encouraged a bunch of my golfing pals to buy him. He got sick about six weeks ago and so this race came a bit quick as he had only done two bits of work since he resumed full exercise. We will see how he is next week, but if he is ok he would be good enough to take to the Royal Lodge, and then we would put him away until next year' "
