S as on Decs. 1.5mm rain overnight. GStick 10:00am. Stands Side course in use. Stalls ?? 13DegC. Medium- SSW Wind = Mostly X-Wind from Right. Latest work video for Born To Reign is from Oct 30th in a pair with Newmarket Warrior (Maiden but OR80 after 2 x 2nds off OR76). Looked bulkier and more powerful than NW with that one racing a bit head up like the sun is in his eyes but not looking in better cond (Mod run LTO). NW more prof when hitting the uphill but BTReign puts his head down and responds and finishes just ahead if working harder bec less knowing. BTReign an OK type but clueless here when 3-2f out efforts go? Then responding last 1f? [Check how he went] Charlton on website wrt Sea Defence = ".... another huge horse and he runs in the first at Newmarket. He ran in a competitive seven furlong maiden three weeks ago at Kempton and he should have finished a lot closer if he had not met with traffic problems in the closing stages. The form was let down yesterday at Lingfield by Three Cliffs who had finished a promising fourth at Kempton being a beaten favourite by over three lengths. I hope Sea Defence handles the soft conditions today as most Mizzen Masts prefer quicker conditions. He is a nice colt who should make a better three and four year old." = Same as recent comments. Intelligent guy but no evidence his thinking gets beyond Pedigree Lite and a bit of Future Form like a ragbag Pundit. If it really bothers him then why run on soft when there are loads of Polytrack maidens around? If it doesn't then why bring the ground bit in at all?, it isn't doing anything. etc.. |
