Odd set-up ith Godolphin jockeys but probably related to change of trainers. Suroor had taken over the Moulton Paddocks yard run by Zarooni which meant he had something over 300 horses nominally under his care. Earlier this week Charlie Appleby (38yo & 15 year Godolphin employee worked his way up) granted a licence by the BHA to take over the Moulton yard horse (had been working ther as assitant to Zarooni which feels a little uncomfortable given the doping and the fact the BHA had a tip-off when they did the out of competition tests. What direction was Appleby looking when all this was going on? Both horses entered under Suroor's name but EFlyer listed under Appleby by race day and ridden by Ryan Moore & in the 2nd colds. Safety Check Barzalona & Suroor with the 1stCols. The Cols just deferring to the trainer?

Seen Notes on fast times (incl 2 x Course Records) on day in Race 392. This a slow time given the overall level on the day.

Slow Pace and EFlyer set a stiff task by being held at back and trying to make ground on a leader who had a soft time.
