SUMMARY
GGF from GFG on Decs. 6mm rain Mon. 2.5mm watering on HS overnight. GStick 07:00am.

Rail Out by up to 7yds from 7f pole to Finishing Line. [Looked more than that on VT and about 1/3 width of track] Adding 22yds to race distance. Which makes this an 8.2f race

21DegC. Medium to Light SSW Wind = around Half Headwind from Right HS.

Dobbs on CBarker completes double in SDWN 2yo races having delivered both with FTO runners for major owners. Moore on Morally Bankrupt here so perhaps explains the shorter SP than CB. Market just never learns about 2nd strings and nor about how quietly efficient Dobbs is. Hannon has now run 4 x FTOs for MPRacing in 2013 for 2 x FT wins and one close 2nd (beaten by a later Gp winner). Had first runners for that owner in 2010 and record with debuts 2010-12 is 1 win from 10 with 3 placed. Seems his normal MO of high class ones can win FTO rather than special prep for the owner. 6 of the 10 wons as 2yos.

Masterclass from Dobbs in 2 races at meeting and managed to win both with ncrs despite widest draw and 'issues' for both. Unfussy style means he doesn't let setbacks turn into huge problems and puts horse in usable position and makes adjustments early (seeing fwd as to how race, chess moves, will unfold). This a typical race in many ways with a slower pace and hard to overhaul the prominent horses. Two wrinkles here in that the pace was so slow that there was a lot of creeping forward -3f to -2f and spreading wide out to centre of what was left of the track (further down the hill as the finish is out there).

Chief Barker moving fwd but cut-off at-2f bet EMorning coming from outside and Ghaawy edging 1-2 lanes wider. Dobbs sits down in saddle and stoked CB up and gets a good enough response to go outside the cut-off pair and lead late in centre track and whole group away from rail by finish. Early Morning an all-round nuisance with free running and blundering along not under control. Did it TP and Gold Trail reacted by dropping back from going down quietly with Iconic Artist while IA set-off to go faster while flashing tail at EM. On BS EM doing same thing & pushed CB 2Wd for period and Dobbs responded by letting CB go fwd a rank rather than the hauling back many jks would have done.

Gold Trail and ok sz taller galloper but a bit Inx and a bit 'shrinking back' when faced with other horses. Made effort wdst & okish effort until Fd-0.5f HgR.

Em chal for lead ins-1f & that hidden by later Fd incl Dobbs getting his own back by sqzing him out as making his fwd move to lead late.
