GGF from GF on decs. 7mm rain Wed, 5mm Thu. GStick 06:30am. 24DegC. Stiff SE Wind = 3/4 Headwind from Right Hills website pre-race wrt Almuhalab = "big horse who will probably need the experience both mentally and physically, but he is a very good mover and a nice prospect." In 213 says same about big horse & notes he had a serious problem as foal & nearly died. Talks about him as if a 3yo prospect more & says he isn't like his dam. Hannon in 213 refers to Bon Voyage as a "little horse". Knight in 213 refers to Hands Up as "small, butty" & much more +ve over Crafty Exit. His FTOs so far have been very uncompetitive. A look at his record shows something has changed in last 3-4 seasons. When he started he used to get strong debuts and odd FTO wins at long odds. Also go above average SRs a couple of years. Below average last 4 years & 2011 & 2012 dipping down to poor and debut runs mostly well beaten with odd debut places by non-winners & prob accidents in slow or weak races. Has a debut for retired trainer Winkworth in the earlier Mf and that ought to run better on debut? V Slow pace as a jog up the far rail & 1st 11 within 3.+ of lead at Hf. Lot pf pulling and not settling 1st Hf of race with PPrize the most wound up and hard to control. Pace in relation to Hf vs Final Positions needs some thought. Pace wound from perhaps before-3f part of reasons. Intermedium prob the 2nd worst puller & a typical Godolphin Mdm & lighter build one & prob taut (Phys & Ment) so a fade STO after a solid FTO. Almuhalab a likeable bgr Galloper who prob got tired and faded and ok to follow. Learaig always tv well in race and got to lead by-1f and pulling clear but a Mdm & shorter Hvy build one. 80s & what scope? (How are Cecil FTOs going under New/Same mngmt?, Who are ACTUALLY doing the training now?) Bon Voyage looking a smaller one IC but tv competently in 2R and settled and able to pull clear with winner. Needs full PRev. Alex Vino 1st string for Bizakov but InxOv and a solid effort given that. Crafty Exit blocked on Far Rail-1f+ and JkQt after. |
