G from GGS on Decs. GStick 06:30am. 21DegC. V Light Southerly Wind = Close to Direct Tailwind. Beckett interviewed after the race and said the Win wasn't a surprise. Said she had worked better than her rating (OR67) at home. Felt he had run her too early and perhaps "got her wrong, Selkirks need time to develop". GTDance being better than OR would help to explain the odd mix of Hfs & Final positions. Take GTD out of it and you have a solid pace race where the pace stretched most of those behind so the fillies clear at Hf able to sort it out between them with some mild closing from Hipz & Inyordreams from midfield. GTD in clear last at Hf and niggled along but jk clearly felt she was going well towards 2F as switching her left to make her effort stds side. Odd to see her closing so much with nothing else doing anything striking. Gets the thought of a Stands Side bias going. The fact that the far side of the Widespread field faded most, field racing either side of Centre line. But that could also be because the free running Herbah dragged that side along a bit faster than on the Cent-Stds side. |
