20DegC. Light ESE Wind = 1/4 Tailwind from Right HS. Nothing much to report from Cape Caster Brz VT. Looks smaller type of sire with Ok Bld. Prob IP. Does a solid breeze in that he runs straight & looks balanced. But lacking snap and just going at his one pace. Doesn't finish the last 110yds off fully. Gimme Five a bit bigger than CAster on Brz VT view. Looks to have more snap to his action but it is very 'busy'. Lot of curl and hard pound in Front. Again, just the one pace when up to speed but does finish the breeze off. Trnr King has again showed that he has the horses fit enough to compete FTO (1x 50/1 3rd from 2 prev debuts 2013). Only one FTO win but long SP debut places common before the recent decrease in 2yo numbers. Go better than his SP? Hard to judge Palace Dragon breeze because he does it in a pair and races on the Far Side of a horse slightly bgr than him so he's mostly invisible for 3/4s of the Breeze. On the plus side he does put his head down & fwd and seems naturally trying to 'win' (in Heirarchy terms presumably). Both go ok in Brz but jks not pressing either because more interested in keeping together. Other horse hasn't run (Shamardal ex Fig Tree Drive) and isn't named yet. That one retained for 140k. Post Race = One thought is how does Prescott make his 'development projects' so clueless & looking unwilling in early runs. Without having seen the Breeze for Palace Dragon you could watch this race and think it was his first time galloping with another horse and he probably had a bad attitude towards racing to add to that. What has Prescott done to 'lose' the willing, mostly competent, trier of the breeze VT? |
