17DegC. Stiff to Medium WSW Wind = 1/2+ Headwind Downhill & HS, close to Direct Headwind on the Ridge.

Grand Meister last work VT from Sat 5th Oct. Works on usual uphill strip but on the AW gallop in a trio. Other two horses awere the unraced pair Rock of Leon (50k, RoGib ex Leonica) & Big Orange (Duke Of Marmalade ex Miss Brown To You, OB Gredley). Int to know what the instructions were. GM trails the other two for last 2f+ although JkQt until late on before they eased. But other pair looked bigger and prob doing work more easily.

Interesting race with a variety of wrinkles. Dobbs has just about managed to avoid being run away with in the preceding Nurs on Jive but turned into an ok front running effort by not panicking, hugging the rail, and keep things as quiet and efficient as possible. He did get run away with to some extent by Desert Society here but used the same tactics to gain some control and turn it into a winning ride. Horses had a permanent look on his face of being baffled, and mildly appalled, by what was going on when AP and looked unruffled, not swtg and exactly the same when coming back after winning.

Win assisted by all manner of rolling around, hanging and not handling the track by the other 3 in the first 4. Grand Meister losing ground downhill and clearly not enjoying and hgg & bumping others incl being murdered by Caridadi. Eventually got mildly balanced in the last 1F+ having rolled over to the Stds RL. Plugging on ok then murdered again late by Caridadi hanging badly left (having hung violently Right up the camber-1f), GMeister had enough by then and pushed past Caridadi for 2nd.
