12DegC. Medium+ WSW Wind = Mostly X-Wind from Left HS, Slight Headwind. Hannon Jks = Hughes (Kinloss) & Dobbs (Cameo TIara). Hannon very positive about Cameo Tiara saying she is 'Big' but also 'Backward'. So how much of the positives words are just based on how she looks to him rather than any work info? MooreR continues his tour of NMKT trainers in the 3 maidens on the card by riding Gift Of Rain for Dunlop. Not obvious he had any choice here. On the Dunlop side you presumably need to get a 'name' jk when something that cost 570k makes her debut. Apart from being by Galileo not obvious on the pedigree side why she cost that. Dunlop in 213 sayd "NOT a big backward Galileo...athletic & moves well... haven't done much with her but should make a 2yo being out of an Oasis Dream mare". Still a late season debut despite all the flam. Also worth noting how Dunlop is a good example of the wide range of trainers who talk about horses in terms of their pedigrees all the time. Lightweight, mortly meaningless, Pedigree analysis of course. Others like Hannon & Channon do not get bogged down and that and just work on the Horse in front of them. Worrying to think how much of the slack Ped Analysis becomes self fulfilling and at what cost. Cumani in 213, wrt Dont, starts off by admiring his handiwork in the filly's naming. Notes she is a better type than the previous foals and well grown despite being a late foal. Thought she might be out in July over 6f and be ok as a 2yo. Very Suspect Form = Nearly 3secs Slower than Div I and into the range usually caused by very slow Pace, very poor Nurseries or SSW going after track maintenance. Less than 4.5L covering whole field at the finish incl the slow and stupid ones who should have been left behind. Odd set of VTLs with 7.2VLs covering all 11 at Hf and the last horse at the finish only beaten 4.36TLs. At the Top Level this means a very odd set-up with only 2 of the 11 with -ve VTLs at the finish. Can split the field into three types with the first 3 home making 4-7L after Hf and separating themselves. The bulk of the field then Static & less than 1L difference. Kinloss lost 4.2L and had XFd from wd and had an arm-waving OR70. Gracious Lady the other Wd Dw XFr and lost 2.7L. Fascinating to watch the last 2F+ of the race with a 'Picture' of a Static Background of Fillies which a couple drift back into from Ldg and three better types making ground. Those 3 made real ground from-2f and no obvious Creep Zone but did so in three different places with Billowing on the Far Rail, Cameo Tiara finding a clearish path through the field and Don't switching out to race Widest towards StdsSd (which raises the CS question). All three making ground in a line and overhauling Dancing Sands (reasonale Marker on 4TO with an OR78 which is a bit high). Check how these three develop. Was this OR90+ types separating themselves or something else? |
