S as on Decs. 4mm of Rain Overnight. GStick 10:30am Far Side Course in use. Stalls FrSd 15DegC. Stiff to Strong WSW Wind = 1/2 Tailwind from Right. Field stayed Far Rail unlike some of races on day. Nothing wanting to lead so a slow pace and the 3 x senior jks managed to come to an accommodation with their mounts to race mostly settled. Rosie J. on Kalon Brama, the smallest Hrs, plain not strong enough to hold her horse and got carted to the front and locked in one braced pos trying to hold the horse to past Hf. In a sport where jks "strength" is waffled about to no meaningful effect this one example where plain physical strength makes a difference. Hughes, for eg, would prob have been able to find a way, perhaps by just being stonger than the small Jessop, to hold the horse back even if it never relaxed. |
