SUMMARY
SHV from S on Decs with 50mm of rain since April 20th. Report the final 3f still as S.

Rail fully in.

Field stayed Stands Rail aside from last two home who hung left in late race to be centre track and beyond. Average, or slower, pace and jk Hughes effectively removed Dougal from a possible winning position unless he was very useful and ready. Horse looked relaxed but not mentally sharp. However, Dougal broke best and in the lead early and crossing over to the rail with Justice Good joining him 1Wd.

Dougal a short-necked, bull sprinter if anything started running freely and Hughes clicked staright into "teach to settle" mode and hauled Dougal back to allow JG to lead on the rail and going comfortably & settled. Which left Dougal with a tough job to get 1.5L back on JG in the last 1f. Keniry on JG just HnH and checking what Dougal was doing on the Big Screen. Hughes switched Dougal out in the last 1F and briefly raised his whip to see if Dougal might be able to find the kick to move up on JG. But, never used the whip and perhaps because Keniry a bit more urgent on JG and probably got enough response for Hughes to put the whip down and leave it for STO.

On Full Video Review a Slow Paced race which allowed the limited and very green ones to recover from slow starts to run with the group. Both of those then some mix of outpaced, unbalanced & hanging/veering left as soon as the pace upped 2F out. Storming Harry a limited OR50s small one if he isn't useless and not sure he could 'Storm' anything. Edmund Halley a different prospect, partly anecdotally because the trainers first runner each year often. Edmund Halley clearly no 'Sir Patrick Moore' (for the same trainer/sire) but a reasonable size if a bit narrow and lightly made which limits him. However, close to a nutcase at present and too fizzy in the prelims. AP he was sweating and attended by his own handler and a blanket. Got the slow start you would expect from a horse with that prep. Another dropped immediately the pace up and 'creaking' before that. Worrying sign that ha got quite so unbalanced but prob had a scrambled brain by that point. You can almost hear the trainer saying "he hated the ground" to the syndicate members. Track development and KTNA NTO?

Arlecchino's Leap an expensive buy for the trainer and you wonder what he has shown at home (if anything) to be running early. Many trainers (even David Evans) take a bit more time with the 'expensive' ones. A taller, weak lengthy, unathletic 'sideboard' at NWBY. Still lengthy, leggy and underpowered here if a bit better shape. Compare him to the compact and deep Dougal and clearly very different types. Outpaced as soon as the efforts went and you wonder whether he is getting some duff runs in early for a usable OR. Need to see more from him to be convinced he is usable 60s.

Dougal showed enough despite being a bit green to think he is 80+ and a 5f type. Proabably better suited to a faster test. Should rate 80+.
