GF from GGF on Decs. 10mm Watering since Fri. Medium+ Westerly Wind = 3/4+ Headwind from the Leff in the HS, Tailwind BS. Picture on the MPR website of My Girl Jo's hard to judge size but probably smaller. Looks ok in Front but ess of her behind and narrow hipped. The Breeze Video seems to confirm a small one. On the plus side she runs straight down the middle of the AW track with her head down and forward and looking balanced. A usable small one that makes the best at what she has by being professional. Ruby Rose harder to judge in her Breeze Video because poorer quality VT & lower camera angle so hidden by the rails. Also running on an undulating turf course where they are kicking divots off. Looks a small and compact one and still up behind. Bandaged in front and a bit upright in front and not stretching out (unlike MGJo). Makes her look scrathy mover in front. Mix of prominent runenrs and Mid-Deep Closers in the first 6-7 at the line. Looking just an average pace made up of (from rail out) - Ryedale Mist, Horsforth & Ruby Rose. Wildly different results for those three with RMist running a bit to free but a bad fade haing still been hanging onto the 2R behind Horsforth towards the last 1f. RRose fading much early and last on the rain by 1f out. Horstforth OR66 and looking the bulkiest in the field. Attended the Leading Line most comfortably and weat 2L+ clear on the rail into the last 1F. Stalling late and being caught by 2R rail running Paco's Sunshine by the line. Percy's Lass the 1st Colours over Paco's Sunshine but getting behind again as she had on debut and looking some mix of green/tricky. Ended up making ground wide on the track but not looking straightfoward in the last 1f and a bit Head Up and hanging left. Looking in place with the smallish set of closing fillies. No obvious excuse for My Girl Jo and looking smaller in the field. A bit green and a bit hanging left in the last 2f but losing ground early amid a lot of other smaller fillies, Presumably can tighten her act up but hard to think that will amount to much over 60 on the effort here. Sweet Missi the outsider of the 3 x Ellison fillies. A bit gree throughout but an ok effot at a low level to work here way through the field & faders. Looking to stall inside the last 0.5f then change leads and found a bit more and got the jk interested again. But, a small one and making ground in a weak race. Some low level promise but with a quality caveat. Did finish the Uphill 5f off and di have to overcome some problems in the first 1f that dropped her to last. MPR Sales Blurb for My Girl Jo (destined for the 'Top in Group Races' apparently) = "This filly was sourced from the Osarus sale in Pornichet in France by David O Meara and Nick Bradley. She was bought for 24,000 Euros and was a filly we were very keen to buy. Her breeze was very impressive, she clocked the 4th fastest time of the day and visually was very impressive, showing a great attitude to her work. On viewing her, both David and Nick fell in love with her. She is a very honest and sweet filly who walks aswell as she breezes.Whipper has produced plenty of good horses in recent years and we see no reason why this filly cant go to the very top. We see her as a filly for the mid to back end of the season, this filly comes very highly recommended and is very similar in physique and attitude to Lilys Angel who won us plenty of races and went right to the very top in terms of Group races. We expect her to start at 6 or 7 furlongs in the middle of the season and will campaign her locally initially, but she does carry the French Premium so we may entertain taking her over to France at some point.". |
