SUMMARY

Medium+ SE Wind = 3/4 Tailwind in the HS.

Simcock jks = Lane (Medicean Melody) & Cosgrave (Gleaming Girl).

Slow pace and two fillies with placed form able to get to a Leading Pair comfortably and had a Soft Time in front. The Slow Pace causing Stacking behind and the usual negatives of some fillies pulling and racing too free, having to run 2 Wide on the bend, etc.

Only mild CZ action and the Leading pair still with a break of 1.5L to 2L on the others at the 2F out Final Effort Point. That Pair then having a duel for the final 2f with never more than a Neck between them one way or the other. Given the race Set-up the fillies in 3rd-5th through Halfway all losing ground with lesser efforts than the leaders and no obvious excuses.

Acquittal making some quiet progress on the Far Rail in the last 2f with jk Turner doing nothing to assist the horse. Quiet run for a Nursery Filly or anything more? Gleaming Girl working out from the Far Rail intot he HS to end up making her effort-1.5f+ in Centre Track. Staying on a bit at the finish but a general feeling that the first two fillies home are around 75 (at best?) and having a 2L head start in a short sprint. Fillies behind need an excuse not to be just usable 60s at best.

Obvious filly with some valid excuse behind the leading pair was Forte. A bit green overall and a hesistant start from a wide draw then held back by the jk to drop in behind. But, getting lit up and pulling and fighting for her head for at least 2.5f. On the rail towards the bend in the Last Pair but the jk relented/got tired and let her pull to progress 2 wide on the bend. Still looking green in the HS but the one filly making some visible progree in the ruck until getting tired in the last 0.5f+. Looking a taller and rangy one in the but perhaps a bit lightly made(?). But, presume 75+.

Cascades talked up by Elsworth in early season and kept at a higher [Prf] after a poor but possibly excusable debut. Like Forte did things wrong before 2f out but unlike that filly unable to show any promise with an ok effort in the last 2f. Cascades free in the BS and ended up running 2 Wide on the bend. Niggled a bit at various points after getting onto the bend as if not going forward. Same thing 2F out when asked for her effort and a delay before any response. When she did she was looking hesistant again, head to one side and not reaching out in front. Looking like something physical worrying her. But, lacking the taller frame of Fote. But, keep on the list of one who presumably isn't as bad as her first two runs make her look because she might improve if the issues get fixed.
