SUMMARY
Kasb (1st, Left) & Charlies Star (2nd, R) =

First Cut Theory to work against = Contested pace too strong and pacesetters folding back at various times. Only Kasb finishing the race off after giving trouble loading and looking mentally too young. Made a slow start and well back until making quite quick progress into the last 1f. Presumably partly ability but a good portion of the fronrunners stopping. Charlie's Star a concern for the actual Form level of the race and tried to run prominently but got outpaced but then plugged on best and presumably because of superior fitness rather than by suddenly becoming an OR75+ filly. Check Pictures. Kasb the only Deep Closer because the others well back at halfway either not handling the ground, too slow, too stupid or not Fit Enough. Or any combination of those. Justice Good should have been in a good spot to S&P in 2R but never travelling smoothly and having to be niggled along from early and offering to hang left from Halfway. The Paco Kid also in 2R and did make a quite theatening move up towards the last 1f but didn't see the final 1F out fully. Ballymore Castle probably travelled best of the leaders and left in the lead towards the last 1F as the other prominent runners folded & faded. But, also not seeing the final 1F out fully. Magical Memory not Fit enough to see the race out in PRev but travelled 2nd best for 4F before a quick fade back. Arlecchino's Leap gave a lot of trouble loading. King Crimson a typical Channon too Fizzy one (why are his 2yos so different in attitude to Hannons?) and fully 'colty' even AP.

Charlie Hills website news pre-race wrt Magical Memory = "It's the Greenham meeting at Newbury at the weekend and we should have plenty of runners. We'll almost certainly kick the meeting off with our first two year old runner Magical Memory (by Zebedee). He's always been forward at home and has done enough work to do himself justice. He's pictured with George Baker on board, who has ridden him in most of his work."
