- Richard Michael Hannon.
- Trainer since the early 1970s when he took over his father's yard. Announced in late season 2013, aged 67, that he would be retiring and his son Richard (junior) would take over the licence in January 1st, 2014. Finished his final season as Champion Trainer for the third time in five seasons and the fourth title overall.
- In his last six seasons, from 2008 to 2013, the number of horses in training had grown by more than 50%. The stable also gathered a wide range of new owners, many very well funded Arabs whom were 'absent' prior to that growth. The increased financial backing enabled the Hannons, along with their Sales Agents the Doyles (a similarly aged Father & Son team), to buy horses in higher sales price brackets than before. Unusually, and to some extent remarkably, the stable's results, in almost all categories, had improved notably as the number of horses had increased. Rather than there being a dilution or even staying at the 'usual' levels.
- Although retiring, Hannon senior made it clear he would still be around and having input to the training. For some years his son had been running the East Everleigh satellite yard of around 100 horses, some miles form the main Herridge base (approx 150 horses), as a separate yard to some extent. Hannon senior oversaw most work sessions but was usually on seen at the course for major meetings with Richard junior the usual 'Public Face' of the stable.
