SUMMARY
Photo Finish with A Momentofmadness (started on Far Rail) responding to Bochart's late challenge. Time Warp almost certainly would have won if had not run so cluelessly. He is on the near side and a surprise he got so close late on. Il Piccolo Grande also a bigger type and making an ok effort to hang onto the leading pair since he comes across more as a development galloper than a fast track 6f horse.

=== Post Race ===

Looked a likeable race on paper with more than half the field 75+ candidates at some point in their career and some possible improvers. ATR actually showing proper Paddock pictures of all the runners and the upside view of the group remained after that.

A Momentofmadness getting to an easy lead and showing the same High action in front here as on debut. But, still able to raise a good gallop and a solid effort off an easy lead, fighting off Toledo (challenging to around 1f out then stalling back) and then the closing Bochart in the last 1f. hanging out off the rail to engage both of that pair. A question over why AMoM was ever 14/1 in an open race and ATR's Weaver put him up as the outsider of interest given what he saw in the prelims (always hard to know whether he had been talking to a connection as well). AMoM just a medium one in the group and Bochart a bit less length but a bit taller and bulkier but coming from off the pace. Both fine for 70s and presume OR ratings may leak 80s at some point.

Biggest 2 horses in 3rd & 4th and the pair of most interest going forward. Prescott first batch 2yos have been more clueless than usual so far this season and Time Warp seemed to have learnt nothing since STO and not enjoying the track. One question that keeps popping into the mind is "How do you keep them that Stupid?". You think they would run more competently just through 'herd mentality' and sticking with the others at some point. TW flopping around out wide, again, looking clueless, again, and then making a good effort in the HS, again, but not quite getting to the lead, again. Given how clueless he was a surprise to see him looming up late on and might well have won with 50yds more. Big and well built and must be able to rate 85+ when he runs an efficient race. He is going to iron some Nursery field out if he ends up racing off 76, say.

Il Piccolo Grande another tall one but probably a bit less build than TW. IPG, unlike TW, running a proficient race and handling the bends and turn despite his size. Settled in 2R and unable to find the speed required to run the leader down in the HS. A bit upright and still coming across as a galloper and ok for 80+ and 7f.

Toledo a shorter and medium one in context of this solid field. Well prep'd & ridden to get involved but just coming up short. May well go back to 5f and a 74-5 type?

Poet's Song smaller than average in this group and a bit underpowered relatively. Up to 70 range? Eltham a cheap buy but an ok sized frame in this solid group. Not looking a rabbit in comparison. But, oddly constructed, longer body, too long neck, narrow, etc. You imagine he looked an odd-shaped, gawky yearling and a bit scrawny. Check whether usable at some low level but trainer record a negative anyway.
